A stunning backdrop for your next production

Missenden Abbey, a 12th century former medieval Abbey set within 10 acres of picturesque grounds, lies at the head of the Misbourne Valley, hidden away in the heart of the Chilterns.

This stunning Grade 1 property features a garden room with a sweeping staircase and beautiful stained-glass windows that infuses the room with natural light.  Dining rooms with high vaulted ceilings and a library adorned with books and an elaborate fireplace create an atmosphere like no other.

Our south lawn is enriched with many features including a flint and brick 18th century Gothic summer house that hides away in our woodland, a magnificent 400 year old Cedar tree, the striking Misbourne riverbed which flows through our grounds, a cobblestoned courtyard, a ha-ha and a captivating pond.

Missenden Abbey is the perfect setting for filming period dramas, contemporary outdoor shoots and much more. This is a rare opportunity not to be missed.

Dating back to 1133, it is steeped in British history and once housed great kings and queens including King Henry II and King Henry III. It is also believed that we have ‘Newtons’ Tree’ in our orchard, which is documented that this apple tree is a descendant of the apple tree that hit Isaac Newton on the head thus discovering gravity!
