Our Bedford wedding venue is located in Chiltern Hills, on 10 acres of beautiful English gardens. We offer three different spaces to host your wedding and will support you with every detail, from wedding planning and ceremonies to catering, music, and accommodation.

Our Bedfordshire Wedding Venue
Only an hour and 15 minutes from the heart of Bedfordshire, Missenden Abbey sits away from the hustle and bustle of the city to create a tranquil setting for your wedding. With easy access to major roads and public transport for your guests, it offers a convenient and elegant destination to say ‘I do’.
Booking your wedding at Missenden Abbey means you have access to our expert wedding coordinators, who will help incorporate your wedding theme and ideas and provide recommendations for stress-free wedding planning. They will ensure everything from your bridal suite, itineraries and decorations to flowers, menus and entertainment are perfect.
Medieval Abbey
Experience the fairytale magic of our 12th-century Medieval Abbey. Complete with turrets, sweeping staircases and manicured grounds.
Wedding Capacity
Our wedding spaces cater for all wedding styles and sizes, holding up to 150 guests in the day and 200 guests in the evening.
Wedding Accommodation
While you sip champagne in our exclusive bridal suite, your guests can book into the 56 additional bedrooms we have on site.

Your Wedding Day
Planning a wedding should be the most exciting time, and we’re here to ensure it’s entirely worry-free. As your Bedfordshire wedding coordinators, we’ll guide you through every step of the day, including all the big and little details.
The Ceremony
Missenden Abbey has three stunning spaces in Bedford and Bedfordshire for your wedding ceremony, civil ceremony or civil partnership. Our bright and airy Garden Room offers an abundance of light with beautiful stained glass windows, while our Woodland Suite offers a more scenic view of the Abbey’s riverbed and 400-year-old cedar tree. For larger weddings, our Woodland Suite, with a starlight ceiling, can also cater for your entire wedding day.
Post-Ceremony Drinks Reception
After ‘I do’, it’s time for bubbles, canapes and mingling with guests. You can choose between stately rooms inside the Abbey or our gorgeous grounds for your drinks reception. Each offers incredible photo opportunities and space for entertainment, such as music or garden games.
Wedding Breakfast
Our wedding coordinators will help you choose and plan the perfect menu for you and your guests – catering to all dietary requirements with locally sourced ingredients. We have various spaces where you can enjoy your wedding breakfast, with ample space for toasts, photos and lots of love.
The Evening Reception
Leave it to us to seamlessly move your wedding day from ceremony to reception. We’ll help ensure your evening entertainment is set up correctly and evening guests are welcomed to the celebrations. All you need to do is enjoy your day and dance the night away.

Our wedding day packages include overnight stays in our beautiful rooms for you and your guests. Our bridal suite is offered with compliments on the night of your wedding and 30 guest rooms are reserved for your wedding guests.
