Our 12th-century Medieval Abbey located in the Chiltern Hills has previously housed royal family members.

We can accommodate 150 people for the ceremony & 200 people for the evening Reception.

Your Wedding Day
At Missenden Abbey, we strive for your dreams to come true on your biggest day, from exchanging vows to taking the first dance. Our Buckinghamshire wedding venue is the perfect place to have the perfect day.
The Wedding Ceremony
Say ‘I do’ in our exquisite Garden Room, featuring a sweeping staircase and beautiful stained-glass windows that infuse the room with natural light. We also host ceremonies in our beautiful Woodland suite overlooking the riverbed and cedar tree. For larger ceremonies, opt for our starlight marquee. Alternatively, marry at one of the local churches, before travelling over to the Abbey to celebrate with family and friends. There is also the option of saying your vowels under our picturesque cedar tree.
Post-Ceremony Drinks Reception
Our Buckinghamshire wedding venue is set against the impressive backdrop of the Chiltern Hills and our south lawn is enriched with many features, making it perfect for capturing those intimate wedding photos, including a magnificent 400-year-old Cedar tree and a flint and brick 18th-century Gothic summer house that hides away in our woodland. You and your guests can enjoy champagne and canapés whilst taking in these views on our manicured lawns for your drink’s reception.
Wedding Breakfast
The wedding celebrations continue with your wedding breakfast taking place in either the dining rooms with high vaulted ceilings or our marquee with its starlight canopy. Our talented chefs will prepare the most delicious dishes using the finest, locally sourced ingredients.

Continue making your special wedding memories in the evening, from the memorable first dance to singing and dancing with your friends and family. With our preferred suppliers available to help you with photobooths, fireworks and much more, we guarantee this will be a wedding to remember.
