The Grounds Are Open – 7th August

The grounds are open. Come and join us where you can play pitch and putt, head into Bluebell Rise to explore our new fairy woodland trail and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea or picnic.

Fun for all the family!

Free entry to the grounds, donations to the Missenden Walled Garden Charity are kindly welcome on the day.

Please note – Due to the current situation, we must ask that you book a 2-hour time slot in advance to enter the grounds and pre-book your afternoon tea or picnic. Strictly no walk ins. Social distancing measures will apply.

Bluebell Rise Fairy Woodland

Come and explore Bluebell Rise and take the twisting path down the Fairy Woodland trail.  Pick up an activity pack and use the woodland map to guide your way through, while you find all sorts of fairy homes and creatures.

Activity Pack: £1.00 per pack

Donations to the Missenden Walled Garden Charity are kindly welcome at the end of the trail.

Pitch & Putt

Have a go at our 9-hole pitch and putt and see if you can complete the course on par.

Prices per person:

Adults: £2.00 / Children: £1.00


Cream Tea: £6 per person

Traditional Afternoon Tea: £20 per person

Picnic: £20 per person

A BBQ will also be available on the day.

Please note: Please call reception on 01494 866811 to book your afternoon tea or picnic. We are unable to accept bookings on the day. All afternoon tea’s and picnics must be pre-booked in advance. Picnic benches are available for seating (subject to availability) or please bring your own picnic blankets or chairs.

Loraso Ice Cream

Who doesn’t love a Mr Whippy ice cream?

We have Loraso ice cream joining us who will be serving Mr Whippy and their freezers are full of the best ice cream and lollies by Walls, Nestle/Treats and Franco’s Ices.

Make sure you head over to the fun fair amusements for mouth-watering candyfloss and sweets and have ago on the side on ride along.

Please note that dogs are welcome to roam the grounds on leads however with the exception of assistance dogs we are not able to permit dogs inside the building.

Missenden Walled Garden Charity

The Missenden Walled Garden Charity provide day support for people with disabilities or mental health issues and enrich the lives of their members, through Work, Education and Community Engagement. The mix of outdoor and indoor environments give their members a sense of freedom in a relaxed and secure environment. They help their members to grow with worthwhile and valued jobs including growing vegetables, fruit, herbs and maintaining the gardens and the grounds of Missenden Abbey.

The Missenden Walled Garden Charity have kindly created the foundations of the Bluebell Rise trail and look after the upkeep of our beautiful woodland.
