Visiting Missenden Abbey

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Missenden Abbey. To ensure you have a safe and enjoyable visit we have prepared the following guidance.

Our key priority is to keep everyone at Missenden Abbey safe and well informed before and during your visit. We therefore request that visitors comply with our COVID secure procedures before and during your visit.

Before your Visit

  • Please whenever possible undertake a lateral flow test prior to your visit, even if you have had two vaccinations. You can go online at: https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests to obtain a kit, or to find a location to collect one. Missenden Abbey can only supply lateral flow kits to staff.
  • For large social group bookings, we will require that all visitors provide a negative lateral flow test result that is not older than 24hrs.
  • Please do not attend Missenden Abbey if you feel unwell and have any symptoms: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/
  • Your visit must be pre booked in order to support our track and trace process.

On Arrival

  • On arrival you must sign in and use the NHS COVID app to check in.
  • We will provide the use of the temperature scanner and masks, which are located at Reception. If your temperature is too high on arrival you will unfortunately not be permitted to proceed with your visit, and we will inform your meeting organiser.

During your Visit

  • Although, the government guidelines from 19th July 2021 are removing social distancing restrictions, we ask all our clients and staff to be sensible and maintain social distancing as much as possible.
  • We support wearing a face covering upon the entry into the building, moving between areas and around public spaces as much as possible. Your organiser will confirm if you are required to wear face covering in the meeting room.
  • Use the sanitiser provided regularly during your visit and follow the handwashing guidance.
  • Our site operates a give way system, which expects individuals to take responsibility to give way to others on site when passing in corridors and public areas.
  • Ensure you remain with your group during your visit as much as possible and follow any guidance as agreed for your group arrangements.

Missenden Abbey appreciates your cooperation with the measures in place and we look forward to welcoming you.
